Android Overview

What is Android ?

Android is an open source, Linux-based and mobile operating System for mobile devices
such as smartphones, tablets and computers. It is developed by Google, it is basically
primarily designed for touchscreen devices such as mobile phones and tablets. It is based
on the modified version of Linux Kernel and by the Open Handset Alliance, led by Google 
and other companies. In Extension to this, Google has further developed each with a
specialized user interface Android Autos for cars,

Android TV for televisions, and Wear OS for wrist watches. Modifications of Android are
also used on devices like digital cameras, game consoles, PCs and Other electronics.


Google released the first beta version of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK)
in the year 2007,although in September 2008 Android 1.0, the first commercial version,
was released.


With the primary aim of improving the user interface, both in terms of functionality
and performance, the Google did a conference named Google I/O conference. This
conference was held on june 27, 2012, where Google announced the next updated
Android version, 4.1 Jelly Bean.


Jelly Bean is an additional update and the source code for this android update is provided
by Google under free and open source software licenses. Under the Apache License
version 2.0 google publishes most of the codes and the rest which left under Linux Kernel
changes, Under the GNU General Public License Version 2.

   Users can instantly share, just by touching two NFC-enabled phones together.
   NFC based technology is which lets users instantly share.
10. Resizable widgets
   Users can expand widgets to show more content or shrink them to save space.
